Trinchero  Winemaker Dinner  –   Tuesday, August 10th

 

On Tuesday, August 10, Leon Bistro  will host a superlative winemaker’s dinner with Trinchero Family Estates, Napa Valley.  We will taste seven of Trinchero’s finest wines, each of which will be expertly and imaginatively paired with a food course by our chef Ann Leon.

 Trinchero is renowned for its high-quality, hand-crafted wines that have the distinctive tastes and aromas of the estates on which the grapes are grown.  This month we are tasting many of their wines to pick the ones we will pair with our cuisine.  Even though we haven’t made all the final selections we can tell you that they  will include Trinchero’s Central Park West Cabernet Sauvignon, which is one of our great favorites and a staple of our wine list.  Also in the must-serve category is their Joel Grott Chardonnay and Zinfandel, two really excellent wines that we offer at the restaurant.  Among the new ones we are tasting are the Terra d’Oro Barberra, Pinot Grigio and Port.  We assure you that it will be an evening of wine and culinary delight.  Sorry, we can’t give you the menu in advance, but to whet your appetite, we can give you the menu that we served at the Hess winemaker dinner in June.  It is printed below.

 

The price of our dinner is $100/person, which includes the tax, but not the tip. 

 The dinner is from 6-9 pm, by reservation only.  We ask you to reserve as soon as possible.

                             We are delighted to offer you an opportunity to enjoy the distinctive and creative cuisine of our chef, Ann Leon, accompanied by the flavors and aromas of wines from the Hess Collection.   Recently we have added wines from the Hess Collection to our moderately-priced wine list.   After sampling our wines, Ann has created an exquisite dinner menu that pairs seven courses with seven of the Hess Collections’s finest wines.   We are confident that this distinctive combination of fine food and delectable wine will be a marvelous dining experience, as well as a night to remember.

                                           Tuna Tartare, with Miso vinaigrette and wasabi crème on a wonton crisp.  House-smoked salmon with crème fraiche and Tobiko caviar on a sweet potato crisp

Honey white corn soup, crisp shallots, heirloom tomato relish with sweet Italian and Opal basil

                                          European butter-basted dayboat scallop with shaved fennel,  orange-coconut red curry sauce, cucumber avocado relish and watermelon salsa
